Meet the Baker

As a lifelong Southerner and tenth-generation Floridian, I grew up with a deep appreciation for baking — and how it brings people together. I was lucky to learn from the best: my mother, grandmother, and aunts, who passed down their love of baking from one generation to the next. Now, as a mother myself, baking has become even more meaningful — and more fun.

Sunshine Macarons began, quite unexpectedly, in 2015. On one of those rare “Florida pretending it’s winter” days, I was curled up on the couch, and I started binge-watching The Great British Baking Show. I had no idea that a cozy afternoon would reignite a long-lost passion.

Since then, I’ve gone on a baking journey that’s taken me from layer cakes and sourdough to European pastries and everything in between. Inspired by the show's contestants — and icons like Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood — I’ve baked my way through Victoria sponges, Kransekake, and even Paul’s famous Apricot Couronne.

But my newest love? Macarons.

I specialize in small-batch, handcrafted macarons made with premium ingredients and bold flavors. My goal is to bring a little more joy to Tallahassee, one macaron at a time — whether it's a custom color palette for a baby shower, a themed assortment for a birthday, or a stunning tower for your next celebration.

And that’s how Sunshine Macarons came to life — with a little help from my heritage, a lot of trial and error, and a whole lot of love. If you're looking for the best French macarons in Tallahassee, I'd love to bake for you.
